Self Portrait

This self-portrait series is what I expect to be the last of using my direct image as the subject of my work. The first is an expression of freedom in strange territory and ease within innocence. The second is about the gratitude and grounding experience of being smashed into reality, a photo of the aftermath of a life-altering accident that resulted in facial trauma superimposed digitally. The third is a progression, a culmination, of the process of struggles and blessings that press one to flourish and expand. These are all on canvas of varying size, utilizing acrylic, photographs, cardboard, scrap metal, and various other elements. Read more about each one in its description by clicking on it.
