Old Oils are among the very first works I dared to let out onto paper, with zero expectation that anything would flow out of me creatively, as I had stifled myself so intensely. Actually letting myself paint seemed outlandish and useless, suffocated by my perceived failure in being true to myself for so many years – creativity began dripping here like a leaky faucet.
